Microsoft Teams are always updating and improving their capabilities. Here are some new features in Microsoft Teams meetings.
New Reactions in Team meetings
There is a new feature in Microsoft Teams that allows you to express how you’re feeling during meetings. Importantly these meeting reactions will enable you to choose from four different reactions – like, love, applause and laugh.
To use Live Reactions, click the “reactions and raise hand” flyout available in the control bar at the top of the meeting window and select a reaction to send it.

Reactions can be disabled in meetings. Find your session, click on edit meeting options, and you will see an option to switch off reactions.
Shortcut for “Raise Hand” feature during Meetings
Microsoft introduced the “Raise Your Hand” option in May 2020. It allows a member of the meeting to get the presenter’s attention and let them know they want to contribute to the conversation.
There is now a short cut that enables you to raise your hand quickly. Use the keyboard short cut (Ctrl + Shift + K). You also use the same combination for lowering the raised hand.
Teams meeting increasing to 1000 people
Microsoft is increasing the number who can attend a private meeting by up to 1000 people.
